About Kathryn Sauve The Spaces Between Us #1
Poems in the Wind 36"x 18"x 1.5" Acrylic, ink, pastel

Where are you standing when the world around you becomes more than rocks and trees, buildings and breezes? When does the scent of nature send you down a path of memories? Where are you when you feel you are no longer independent of the space around you?

When you have found your sense of place.

Kathryn’s art is inspired by the places we hold in our hearts and our memories, as well as the spaces we want to imagine. Her process is intuitive, playing with paint and materials and allowing the artwork to unfold and emerge as the sights, sounds and scents combine to create special locations that resonate within us.

She continues to explore colour and texture in an expressionistic style. Her work is in collections across Canada, the US and Europe.

Kathryn has been involved in some creative endeavour all her life, with painting being most true to her. She has taken art courses through the Ottawa School of Art, Toronto School of Art and Algonquin College and has participated in courses and workshops with independent artists across North America.

Kathryn is the Past President of the West Carleton Arts Society and is a member of various other local arts groups.
